오늘의 묵상
하나님께서는 우리를 찾아다니실 뿐 아니라 우리와 관계 맺기를 간절히 원하십니다 — 말하자면 우리가 그분을 구하고 그분께 중요한 일을 추구하기 원하시는 것입니다. 선한 일을 하면서 그분의 영광과 존귀를 추구할 때, 또한 일시적인 것들보다는 영원한 것들을 추구할 때 하나님께서는 우리를 빚으신 목적—그분과의 영원한 삶—대로 우리에게 제공해 주시는 것을 매우 기뻐하십니다. 다른 말로 하자면, 하나님이 구하시는 것은 그분을 구하는 사람이라는 것입니다!
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
God not only seeks after us, but he also desires a relationship with us — he longs for us to seek after him and after matters that are important to him. When we persistently seek his glory by doing good deeds and seek eternal values rather than temporal things, he is overjoyed to give us what he has always designed for us: eternal life with him and influence on others for good. In other words, the seeking God is always looking for those seeking him!
내 기도
아빠(Abba) 아버지, 잃어버린 자였고 죄 속에 빠져 있던 저를 먼저 사랑하셨으니 감사드립니다. 저를 마음으로 사랑하셨을 뿐 아니라 예수님을 보내셔서 저를 찾아주셨으니 감사드립니다. 아버지의 독생자이신 예수님 안에서 은혜로 성취하신 공의를 감사드립니다. 때때로 별로 중요하지도 않은 문제들 때문에 정신이 팔리고 화가 나기도 하는 것을 고백드립니다. 제 마음을 훈련시키겠다고, 또한 영원한 것에 제 열망을 고정시키겠다고 다짐하오니 저를 축복해 주시옵소서. 제가 삶을 살아갈 때에 주님의 영광과 존귀를 구하지만, 저를 영원한 생명으로 축복하시겠다는 주님의 열정이 제 열심보다 훨씬 크다는 것에 안심이 됩니다. 예수님의 소중한 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Abba Father, thank you for loving me when I was lost and sinned. Thank you for not just loving me but also seeking me by sending Jesus. Thank you for your justice that you met with your grace in your Son Jesus. I confess that I sometimes get distracted and upset with things that don't matter very much. Please bless me as I seek to discipline my heart and focus my desires on eternal things as I seek your glory and honor in how I conduct my life. I find it reassuring, Father, that your desire to bless me with eternal life is still even greater than my pursuit of it. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
