Pedro está deixando claro que sua fé em Jesus não começou apenas com Jesus. Ela começou com os patriarcas, os grandes pais dos judeus. O Deus que os abençoou também ressuscitou Jesus dos mortos, apesar de Jesus ser executado da maneira mais horrenda e degradante para um judeu – ele foi pregado numa cruz, algo que era ilegal e um sinal de ser amaldiçoado na Lei dos judeus. Deus ressuscitou Jesus dos mortos e o exaltou e o fez nosso Salvador e nosso Senhor. Glória a Deus!
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Peter is making clear that his faith in Jesus didn't just begin with Jesus. It began with the Patriarchs, the great Jewish fathers. The God who blessed them also raised Jesus from the dead, even though Jesus had been executed in the most heinous and degrading way possible for a faithful Jew — he was nailed to a cross, something that was both illegal and a sign of being cursed under Jewish Law. He raised Jesus from the dead and exalted him and made him our Savior and our Lord. Praise God!
