Gedanken zum Vers des Tages
Das Ziel für Christen ist nicht etwa, irgendeinem Gesetz zu gehorchen, eine Folge von Anordnungen einzuhalten oder gar Anhänger irgendeiner Disziplin zu sein. Das Ziel von uns Christen ist die Anpassung an den Charakter und den Dienst Jesu. Das ist das Werk des Geistes in uns (2 Kor. 3,18). Wie Paulus hier und an anderen Stellen klar betont (Gal. 4,19), ist das sein Ziel bei seiner Arbeit mit Menschen. Sollte das nicht auch das Werk für uns als Eltern, Freunde und geistliche Mentoren sein?
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Our goal as Christians is not to obey some ancient law, adhere to some set of arcane rules, or even follow some sort of spiritual discipline. Our goal as Christians is to be conformed to the character, way of life, and heart of Jesus. This is also the Spirit's work in us (2 Corinthians 3:18); as Paul the apostle said, "makes clear here and in other places (Galatians 4:19), his goal is to see "Christ formed" in us. Shouldn't this be our work as parents, friends, and spiritual mentors, too? We want to see each other, those we love, those we influence, and those in Jesus' family, perfectly mature in Christ!
Mein Gebet
Heiliger Herr, möge mein Herz, meine Worte, mein Leben, mein Dienst und meine Taten dem Wesen Jesu entsprechen. Ich will, dass er mein Herr ist, nicht nur über meine Worte, sondern auch über mein Leben. Im heiligen Namen Jesu bete ich. Amen.
My Prayer...
Holy Lord, conform my heart, my words, my life, my ministry, and my actions to those of Jesus. I want him to be my Lord, not just in my words but also in my life. In addition, dear Father, empower me with the Holy Spirit so I can better help others in Jesus' family, mature into the roles and vital parts you have for them, as you mature them into a more perfect example of their Lord. I pray this in the name of Jesus, my Lord. Amen.
