오늘의 묵상
미워함이란, 참으로 강력한 단어입니다. 우리는 사람들을 미워해서는 안됩니다. 우리는 악(evil)을 미워해야 합니다. 그 두가지를 지키는 것은 매우 어렵지만 절대적으로 필요한 것들입니다. 악이 존재하는 이유는 악한 자가 있기 때문이고, 그는 미움, 거짓말, 사망의 최고봉입니다. 악이 그 추악한 머리를 꼿꼿이 세울 때에, 용기를 내어 사탄과 그의 일에 저항합시다. 그런 과정에서, 그의 촉수에 붙들려 있는 사람들을 위해 기도하고, 심지어 그들이 우리들을 원수같이 여길지라도 기도해 줍시다.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Hate — what a bold and powerful word. Jesus does not want us to hate people, not even our enemies (Matthew 5:43-48). However, we MUST HATE evil and the evil one. While balancing our hatred of the evil one with our love for others can be challenging, it is absolutely vital. Evil is here because of the evil one — the champion of hate, lies, murder, and death (John 8:44). We can and must daily pray for deliverance from evil and the evil one (Matthew 5:13). So, when evil rears its ugly head, let's be courageous and oppose the evil one and his work. As we resist the evil one, he will flee from us (James 4:7) as we draw near to God and are strengthened by his presence (James 4:8; Hebrews 10:22). Let's choose to be used by God to be redemptive as we pray for those trapped by evil and the evil one's tentacles. In so doing, we are not overcome by evil and the evil one, but we overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21).
내 기도
전능하신 하나님, 제 심령이 이 세상의 악으로 인해 아파했으면 좋겠습니다. 아버지의 뜻과 성품에 저항하는 것들에 대해 거룩한 혐오감을 주시옵소서. 하지만 아버지, 저를 은혜로 구원하셨듯이, 또 죄에 포로였던 것을 구하셨듯이, 악한 자의 품에 있는 자들을 돌보도록 제게 용기를 주시옵소서. 나의 구원자이신 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Almighty God, make my heart pained by the evil in the world around me. Please also give me a holy revulsion to things opposed to your will and character that emanate from the evil one and propagate evil in your world. At the same time, dear Father, I know that you redeemed me by grace and rescued me while I was a captive to sin and the evil one. So, please give me the courage and compassion to care for those in the evil one's embrace and are captive to his evil ways. Please bless me as I try to balance my absolute disdain for the evil one and my love for those who have been hurt and made captive by his evil ways. Through Jesus, my Savior, I pray. Amen.
