오늘의 묵상
거룩하신 하나님의 풍성하신 모든 성품 중에서 제가 가장 선호할 수밖에 없는 것은 하나님의 "자비"입니다. 저는 제 자신의 실패, 결점들, 죄들, 범죄들에 대해 잘 압니다. 다시 용서해주시는 하나님의 자비와, 예수님을 보내셔서 첫 용서를 주셨던 은혜 없이는... 하나님에게서 떨어져 고아처럼 될 뿐입니다. 이제 내 앞에 있는 미래는, 내가 스스로 획득한 것이 아니라, 하나님의 넘치는 자비로 인하여 예수님의 미래와 엮여있는 미래입니다.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
God is rich in mercy and generous with grace! Isn't that wonderful for us? I don't know about you, but I sure know I have failures, shortcomings, sins, and transgressions. Without God’s mercy, I would be lost in my sins (Romans 3:23-25). Without his grace, I would be cut off from the life God longs for me to have (Romans 5:6-11).
God is rich in mercy and generous with grace! He acted on our behalf when he sent Jesus to show us his love (1 John 4:9-10). Now, because of his rich mercy and generous grace, we are dead to that old sinful self, and our lives are now tied to Jesus' glorious future (Colossians 2:12, 3:1-4). "God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ"!
내 기도
모든 은혜와 자비의 아버지, 감사드립니다. 지금과 같은 하나님이심에 감사를 드립니다. 제가 받을 자격이 없었을 때에도 아버지의 은혜를 제게 주셔서 감사합니다. 제가 가장 자비가 필요할 때에 주셔서 감사합니다. 제 삶이 침울하고 소망이 없다고 생각했을 때 생명을 주셔서 감사합니다. 제 재산이 돈과 금보다도 자비와 은혜에서 훨씬 더 넘치기를 원합니다. 저를 아버지를 더 닮도록 도우시옵소서. 저의 큰형/큰오빠이시며 구원자이신 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Father of all grace and mercy, thank you. Thank you for being who you are — the Father of mercy and the God of all grace!* Thank you for extending your grace when we did not deserve it. Thank you for giving mercy when we most needed it. Thank you for blessing us with life when we thought our lives were doomed and hopeless. May we be rich in mercy. May we be people of grace. We desire to be wealthy in these ways, like you, more than being rich in earthly riches that are destined to perish.^ Help us, O Lord, to be more like you, to be rich in mercy. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
