오늘의 묵상
영원하다는 것은 새로운 것이 아닙니다. 영원히, 완전히 예수님처럼 된다는 것이 새로운 것입니다. 하지만 영광의 순간이 기로에 서있었던 그때, 즉 예수님께서 죽음의 잠에서 깨어나셔서 부활하셨을 때에, 죽음이 더이상 우리를 주장하지 못한다는 확증을 받게 된 것입니다. 이제 죽음이 진정으로 뜻하는 것은, 우리가 예수 그리스도와 합하는 세례를 받을 때 죄에 대하여 죽는 죽음을 뜻합니다. 우리가 그의 죽음을 함께 공유했다면, 그의 부활도 확실히 공유할 것입니다. (로마서 6:1-14 참조)
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Being eternal is nothing new; God made us that way, in the beginning, for fellowship with him. Being like Jesus (1 John 3:1-3) completely, eternally, will be new. When Jesus' lifeless body was placed in the ground, our lives with God, forever in glory, hung in the balance with him. Praise God. The Spirit of God revived Jesus from his death sleep. Jesus' resurrection also ensures our own, because our lives are hid with Christ in God (Colossians 3:1-4), that death can no longer claim us. The only death that really matters for us is dying to our sin, through faith in baptism with Jesus (Romans 6:4). If we have shared in that death, we will most certainly share in his resurrection (Romans 6:5). Jesus was "the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep." This means that because God raised Jesus from the dead, we too can be confident that we "will be made alive" in Christ and live with him forever. His resurrection forever guarantees our own (Romans 8:11). Praise God!
내 기도
전능하시며, 가장 능력있으신 하나님. 주님의 은혜와, 죽은 자 가운데에서 부활하신 예수님 덕분에, 제가 주님의 얼굴을 마주 볼 수 있게 될 것이라는 것을 압니다.하지만 그런 부활의 삶이 과거 어느 때보다도 예수님을 닮도록 도우시옵소서. 부활하신 주 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Almighty and graciously powerful God, I praise you. I praise you today because of your grace given to me through the resurrection of Jesus from the dead. I know I will see you face-to-face and share in your glory.* Help me now to live that resurrected life before others, as the Holy Spirit transforms me each day into greater and glorious likeness to Jesus.** In the name of my risen Lord I pray. Amen.
