오늘의 묵상
놀랍지 않나요! 내 자신의 말이 막히고 마음이 짓눌릴 때일지라도, 하나님께서는 나의 기도를 들으신다는 것입니다. 그 이유는 나의 입술이 움직이거나, 혹은 기도해야 할 때를 알만큼 지혜롭고 신실하기 때문이 아닙니다. 전혀 아닙니다. 사실 진짜 이유는, 하나님께서 은혜로 자신의 영을 우리 마음에 두셨기 때문에 우리들의 언어가 제대로 포착하지 못하고 우리들의 마음을 말로 풀어내지 못하는 때에라도 우리들의 심령의 상태가 하나님께 알려지기 때문입니다. 하나님께서는 나의 탄식, 외침, 마음의 깨어짐, 가슴이 터지도록 우는 것들을 들으시는 것입니다. 나 자신이 구체적으로 생각도 못하지만 감정으로는 느끼는 것들을 아시는 것입니다. 성령의 일하심을 통하여 말로 표현되지 못한 기도들도 하나님의 임재, 은혜, 권능으로 응답하시는 것입니다.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Isn't it incredible! Even in those times when we can't find the correct words and our hearts are heavy, God hears our prayers. It is not because we are articulate, wise, or faithful enough to pray as I should. No, it is because God has graciously placed his Spirit into our hearts to make known to him what our words cannot capture and our voices and minds cannot verbalize. God hears our groanings, our yearnings, our heartbreaks, and our heart-cries. He knows what we cannot think, but only feel. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, he answers those unutterable prayers with his presence, grace, and power.
내 기도
아버지, 제가 위로를 받은 것은 어떻게 말을 해야 할지도 모를 때 제가 표현하지 못한 그것들까지도 다 아신다는 확신 덕분입니다. 제게 필요한 것을 제 자신이 아는 것보다도 훨씬 더 잘 아시니, 제 마음의 갈망을 보시고 그것이 적절하다면 응답하실 것을 신뢰합니다. 예수님의 이름으로, 성령 안에서 온전한 확신을 갖고 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Father, we are comforted by the assurance that even when we don't know what to say, you know what we feel yet cannot articulate. We trust you to answer our hearts' longings as you see fit, for we believe that you know what we need far more than we know how to ask for it. In addition to all of this, we trust the Holy Spirit to present our requests to you in accordance to your will and our best interests, to your glory. In Jesus' name, and with complete confidence in the Holy Spirit, we pray. Amen.
