오늘의 묵상
아이들은 가르치기만 해서는 안됩니다; 훈련시켜야 할 필요가 있습니다. (역주: 한글성경에는 "가르치라"고 번역되어 있으나, 영문성경에는 train으로 번역됨) 삶이란 단순히 지적인 수업과 지식 전달로만 이루어진 것이 아닙니다. 우리 매일의 삶에 진리를 촘촘히 엮어서 하나를 이루도록 만드는 것입니다. 우리가 아이들을 감동시켜서 훈련시키는 것을 우선순위에 놓으라고 하나님께서 말씀하시는 이유는 무엇일까요? 우리가 시간을 투자하는 다른 것들은 임시적인 것들이지만, 우리의 아이들은 영원한 존재들이기 때문입니다.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Children don't just need to be taught facts, truth, and school subjects; they need to be trained and prepared for life in the grace of God, the way of Jesus, and the leading of the Holy Spirit. This training should come from their parents and other faithful adults in their lives. Deep down, we know that life is not just about intellectual lessons and information. Authentic life and productive living are about integrating God's truth into the fabric of our daily lives as we teach them and model them before our children and the children God places under our influence. Our Father in heaven calls us to move our children and their training to the top of our list of priorities. Our children are forever; other things we invest our time in are temporary. So, let's recommit to training up children and living as examples before them so that they will follow the way of God their whole lives.

위대하시며 거룩하신 상담자이신 주님, 제가 주님의 사랑과 진리를 제 아이들과 나누기 위해 가장 중요한 것을 추구하도록 도우시옵소서. 제가 주님을 알고 사랑하는 것보다 이 아이들이 더욱 완전하게 주님을 알고 사랑하기를 원합니다. 제가 지혜로운 결정들을 내릴 수 있는 지혜와 용기를 주시고, 제 가족의 삶 속에서 아이들을 대할 때 필요한 온화함도 허락해 주시옵소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Great and holy Counselor, please help me as I seek to know the best way to share your love and truth with my children and the children you have placed into my circle of influence. I want them to know and love you, respect you, honor you, and live for you. Please, dear Father, bless me with the wisdom and courage I need to make wise decisions on how to lead and discipline these children. I need your help to display tenderness toward these precious children as I seek to demonstrate your righteous character, gracious compassion, and faithful love and justice in my daily life. In Jesus' name, I pray for your help. Amen.
