오늘의 묵상
우리가 그리스도인이 되면, 예수님께서는 성령의 선물을 주십니다. (사도행전 2:38, 디도서 3:3-7) 성령께서는 우리 속에 살아계시며, 우리의 몸을 성전으로 만드시고(고전 6:19-20), 여러 방법으로 우리를 축복하십니다(로마서 8장). 우리가 공격을 받거나, 비판, 조롱에 직면하더라도 용기있을 수 있는 것은 성령께서 임재하시기 때문입니다. 성령의 열매(갈 5:22-23)와 우리 마음 속에 성령께서 부으시는 사랑(롬 5:5)은 우리를 약하게 만들지 않습니다. 그 대신에, 성령께서 임재하시기 때문에 우리는 죄를 이기게 되고(롬 8:13), 자기 훈련이 된 삶을 살게 됩니다.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
When we became Christians, Jesus poured the gift of the Holy Spirit into us (Acts 2:38). The Spirit now lives in us, making our bodies into a holy temple where God lives and we worship him in the ways we use our bodies (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). The Spirit also blesses us in many ways. Romans 8:1-39 details many of these ways. We can be courageous even in the face of attack, criticism, ridicule, and persecution because of the Spirit's presence in us (Acts 4:23-31). The Spirit is at work in us to produce love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23) as the Spirit transforms us to become more like Jesus (2 Corinthians 3:18). The Spirit pours love into our hearts, enabling us to love in supernatural ways (Romans 5:5). The Spirit's presence is our heavenly power source helping us overcome sin and live self-disciplined lives to the glory of the Lord, even in evil times (Galatians 1:4). Because "God did not give us a spirit of timidity," but the Holy Spirit "of power, of love, and of self-discipline."

아버지, 제 삶 속에 성령께서 꾸준히 임재하여 주시니 감사드립니다. 매일의 삶의 도전들을 마주할 때에, 더 큰 용기와 힘으로 저를 강하게 해주십시오. 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Father, thank you for the Spirit's constant presence in our lives. Please empower us with even greater courage and strength as we face the daily challenges in our lives, with the help of this power from the Holy Spirit. May we display the power of the Spirit in our lives in the ways that we love others, seeking to share the love, mercy, and grace of Jesus with them. We also ask for the Spirit's help in putting to death the fleshly desires that interfere with our transformation into becoming more like Jesus. We pray this through the intercession of the Spirit and the powerful name of our Lord Jesus. Amen.
