오늘의 묵상
하늘나라는 우리의 마음으로 보게 되는 그 어떤 것입니다. 우리가 용기를 잃고, 의심하고, 우울해할 때에 우리 마음의 눈이 "밝아져야" 합니다. 우리 안의 어둠이 지나 새벽이 밝아와야 하며, 그럴 때에 소망이 동트는 것과 우리가 받을 상속의 풍성함을 보게 될 것입니다. 하지만 일이 잘 안 풀릴 때에 이런 것들을 기억할 수 있는 유일한 방법은, 그(소망들)에 대해 찬송하고, 기도하고, 관련된 하나님의 약속을 읽는 것입니다.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Heaven is something we see now with our hearts through our faith. When we are discouraged, doubtful, and depressed, we need to have the eyes of our hearts "enlightened" so we can live our lives with that hope. The dawn needs to rise in our darkness; as we see the dawn of hope and the riches of our inheritance on the horizon, we can be strong, have faith, endure, persevere, and even thrive in our faith. When things look bad, however, sometimes the only way to remember "the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints" is to sing them, pray them, and read God's promises of them in Scripture. These three spiritual practices awaken our faith to see beyond our circumstances! Paul reminds us that, as brothers and sisters in Christ, we can remind each other of these things when we pray for one another to experience them.
내 기도
오 하나님, 주님은 나의 소망이십니다. 저는 주님과 주님의 약속들을 신뢰합니다. 하지만 때때로 (혹은 지금 당장도) 제 기도들에 대해 주님께서 반응은 하실지, 제 삶 속에서 행하시라고 주님께 맡긴 것들을 정말로 시행하실지 확신이 없어 힘들 때가 있음을 인정합니다. 저를 주님의 성령으로 채우셔서 제 의심들을 달래주시고 제 열정에 불을 붙이시어, 담대하게 주님을 섬기고 다른 이들에게 주님의 은혜를 나누도록 하시옵소서. 나의 주님이신 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
O God, you are my lasting hope. I trust in you and your promises. I admit, however, that at times I struggle with my confidence in my hope that you will act in response to my prayers and do what I've trusted you with my life to do. So, please fill me with your Spirit, who can comfort my doubts, rekindle my passion to serve you with boldness, and to share my hope with others. Thank you for Paul's reminder, and I choose to pray about these hopes, sing about these hopes, and read about these hopes in the Scriptures. Through my Lord Jesus, I pray. Amen.
