오늘의 묵상
(여호수아처럼) 우리들의 가족 구성원 모두를 대표하지는 못할지라도, 그 구성원들이 갈망해야 하는 것에 먼저 헌신하겠다고 다짐할 수는 있을 것입니다: <우리는 주님을 섬길 것이다>라고 말입니다. 하지만 다짐만 하지는 말고, 실제로 모범의 삶을 보이면서 길을 인도하는 역할을 합시다. "오늘 나는 주님을 섬길 것입니다!" 그렇게 실제로 살아가면서, 가족들의 구성원들에게 동참하지 않겠느냐고 물어볼 수 있을 것입니다.

Joshua's words to the people of Israel many centuries ago are as relevant now as they were then!
While we can't speak for everyone in our family, we can commit to what everyone in our family should desire: We will serve the Lord! But more than commit, let's set the example and lead the way for the rest of our families to follow. Let's not only say, "I will serve the Lord, TODAY!" Let's do it. Let's make serving the Lord our highest priority. Then let's set an example for our families to follow and challenge them to join us.
As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.

오 상냥하신 목자이신 주님, 제게 지혜를 주셔서 제 가족이 주님을 더욱 사랑하도록 잘 이끌게 하시옵소서. 제 부모님을 축복하여 주시고, 그들의 믿음을 감사드립니다. 제게 용기와 예민함을 주셔서 주님의 진리를 제 아이들과 효과적으로 잘 나눌 수 있기를 원합니다. 오 하나님, 장차 주님께서 주신 다른 아이와 결혼하게 될 경건한 아이를 키우려는 부모들을 축복해 주시옵소서. 저희 집안이 주님을 잘 알고, 주님께 감사드리며, 주님을 높이고 사랑하는 곳이 되기를 원합니다. 예수님의 이름으로 겸손히 간구합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Please give us wisdom, O tender Shepherd, on how to lead our families to love, honor, and cherish you as Lord. Please bless those who are parents. Please give them courage and sensitivity to share your truth effectively with their children and grandchildren. O God, please also bless them as they seek to raise godly children. We yearn for our households to be places where you are known, appreciated, honored, loved, and obeyed. We also pray for those who are single in our family of faith and need reassurance that they belong to your family and are loved. We want to all serve and honor you as Lord, together. In Jesus' name, we humbly ask for these graces. Amen.
