Pensamento:
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
We have often pitted God's law and God's grace against each other. God's grace and our faith in Jesus have liberated us from law-keeping as the means of our justification and righteousness (Romans 3:21-23). As believers, however, we should let God's law help us "see wonderful things" that can bless us today. Without a divinely centered law undergirding a society's soul, that human society tends toward anarchy and brutality. So God revealed his moral expectations in his law — how we should love him and live lovingly with our neighbors (Matthew 22:36-40). Maybe the greatest blessing of the law is that it led us to Jesus, our Savior and Lord (Galatians 3:23-25), in whom all of God's promises find their fulfillment (Matthew 5:17; 2 Corinthians 1:20). Jesus summarized the law's "wonderful" blessings in these words:
"Therefore every teacher of the law who has become a disciple in the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of a house who brings out of his storeroom new treasures as well as old" (Matthew 13:52).
No nome dele, Jesus, meu Senhor e Messias, eu oro. Amém. || Veja a imagem especial: http://www.iluminalma.com/img/il_salmo119_18.html
My Prayer...
Holy Father, thank you for calling us to live righteously and lovingly in your law. We trust that you will dispense justice and settle all injustice when you judge all people. We find great comfort knowing that you see us as your righteous children because of Jesus. We pray to live in ways that reflect your holy character and faithful lovingkindness. We know this is what you desired of your people when you gave your law to Israel. May we, as disciples of Jesus, be your faithful people, people made righteous by grace and displaying your character to the world as the Holy Spirit transforms us to become more like him.* In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
* 2 Corinthians 3:18.
