Santidade é aquela virtude esquecida que é o reflexo de Deus no Cristão, pois Ele é nosso santo e justo Pai. Em dias em que graça é tão facilmente barateada, quando parece que queremos ser apenas amigos de Jesus, as palavras de Pedro deveriam nos deixar chocados com reverência – o compromisso santo de separar nossas vidas do lixo satânico que desafia nosso mundo, e de oferecer nossos corpos, corações e mentes para fazer sua vontade e refletir seu caráter.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Holiness is that oft-forgotten character virtue that is the Christian's reflection of God, their holy and righteous Father. In a day when grace is so easily cheapened, when anything goes as acceptable just as long as we want to be buddies with Jesus, Peter's words should shock us into reverence — the holy commitment to set our lives apart from the evil and satanic sludge that defiles our world and to offer our bodies, hearts, and minds to do his will and reflect his character. As Peter challenges us, "You ought to live holy and godly lives." Why? Because we are looking forward to the day of God's salvation to dawn in all of its fullness for those who are his (2 Peter 3:13, 15).

My Prayer...
Holy and Righteous Father, please teach me to do your will and reflect your character as I offer your grace to others. May the movements of my heart, the thoughts of my mind, and the actions of my life be pleasing to you and reflect your holiness and grace. In Jesus' holy name I pray. Amen.
