Pensamento:
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
God is the speaking God. He spoke our world into existence (Genesis 1:3, 6, 9, 11, 14, 20, 24, 26). Because God loves us, he chose to get his message to us in words. First, God used the patriarchs, leaders like Moses, and great prophets to get his message to his people. Then he gave a written record in the Scriptures — Torah, Prophets, and Writings. Yet when God wanted to speak most clearly and reveal himself most fully, he sent his message to us in Jesus of Nazareth, who is Christ, Son of God, Immanuel, and Lord. For us, as his reborn children, his new covenant people, his Church, we must not just look at Scripture and obey it. We must also look to him as the greatest expression of God revealed to us (John 1:14-18). He fulfilled the Law and its righteous demands (Matthew 5:17). He came to show us and be for us the only way to God (John 14:6-7), and to show us God (John 6:46). He is the answer to all of God's promises (2 Corinthians 1:19-20) and the key to understanding what Scripture means and how to live it (Luke 24:47). So, dear friend, we pursue him as the Holy Spirit transforms us to become like him (2 Corinthians 3:18; Colossians 1:28-29).
|| Veja a imagem especial: http://www.iluminalma.com/img/il_hebreus1_1-2.html
My Prayer...
Holy Father, help me to see Jesus, his work, and his purpose more clearly as I open your Scriptures and seek to understand your will. Fill me with your Holy Spirit, so I may greet each decision awake and spiritually ready to answer the key question of daily life: "What would Jesus have me do?" In the name of Jesus, my Lord and Savior, I pray, and I trust that Jesus will do this through the work of my heavenly Anointing, the Holy Spirit.* Amen.
