تأملات فى آيــة اليوم...
"الكلام لا يُكلّف شيئاً!" "بإمكانك أن تقول لي ما تشاء من الكلمات، لكنني لن أصدق ذلك حتى أراه مُتجسداً في أفعالك." "لقد حان الوقت لتُترجم أقوالك إلى واقعٍ ملموس في حياتك." هناك الكثير من الشعارات، ولكن دعونا ننتقل إلى صُلب الموضوع، ونعيش ونُحب بصدقٍ وحقيقة. ففي عالمٍ حلّت فيه "المقايضة" محل الحب المتفاني والثابت، وحيث غدت "الشهوة" هي التعريف العصري للحب؛ دعونا نُخالف التيار الثقافي السائد، ونُحب حباً صادقاً يترجمه قولنا وفعلنا معاً. إن الحب الحقيقي يجب أن يكون شبيهاً بحب الله؛ إذ لا بد أن يشتمل على العاطفة، والالتزام، والعمل. هذا هو الحب: حباً بالأفعال وبالحق!

There are many slogans, but let's get down to the nitty-gritty and really live and love in truth. In a world where barter has replaced sacrificial, steadfast love, and as lust has become the modern definition of love, let's go against the cultural grain and truly love with our words and actions. Genuine love must be like God's love. It must involve emotion, commitment, and action. This is love in actions and in truth!

يا أبي المُضحّي، أعترفُ لكَ بأنني أكونُ أنانياً في بعض الأحيان؛ وفي أحيانٍ أخرى، تكونُ نوايايَ حسنة، غير أنَّ مثابرتي وأمانتي تفتقرانِ إلى الكمال. وقد أختبرُ أحياناً حباً عاطفياً، لكنه لا يترجمُ أبداً إلى حبٍ ملموسٍ يتجلى في أفعالي. لذا، أدعو روحكَ القدوس لكي يمنحني القوة والقدرة لأكونَ ما أصبو إليه: تلميذاً حقيقياً ليسوع، يُحِبُّ بالأعمالِ والحق. فليتجلَّ حُبُّكَ في أفعالي التي تعبّرُ عن اهتمامٍ صادقٍ اليوم. أصلي هذه الصلاة باسم يسوع. آمين
My Prayer...
Sacrificial Father, I confess to you that at times I am selfish. Other times, my intentions are good, but my follow-through and faithfulness are lacking. I can sometimes have emotional love, but it never becomes part of my expressed love through my actions. So, I invite your Spirit to empower and enable* me to be what I hope to become: a genuine disciple of Jesus who loves with actions and truth. May your love be seen in my actions of genuine concern today. I pray this in Jesus' name. Amen.
