Pensamientos sobre el Verso de Hoy
Al principio este pedido de ayuda parece ser muy exigente, sin embargo si lo vemos de cerca podemos darnos cuenta que es en realidad un grito de desesperación. ¿Alguna vez te ha sucedido algo semejante? A mí sí. También conozco a otros que pueden decir lo mismo. ¡Pero lee como termina el Salmo! ¿Cuál es el secreto de sobreponerse a una larga angustia? Creo que hay tres cosas que son importantes: 1) Honestidad en nuestras oraciones a Dios 2) Confianza en que Dios nos escucha y le importa aun cuando nuestras oraciones estén llenas de dolor y frustración y 3) Alabanza genuina a Dios aun cuando la situación se pinta desesperante. No es una fórmula mágica pero sí una inspirada por el Espíritu. ¡Mírala en Salmos 4!
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
At first, this cry for help seems very demanding of us on God. Closer inspection shows that this is really a cry of desperation. Have you been there? I surely have, and I regularly hear from folks who are there now. But, dear friend in Jesus, read how this Psalm ends! What is the secret to surviving a long agony? I believe three things are important:
- Honesty in our prayer life with God.
- Confidence that God hears and cares even when our prayers sizzle with pain and frustration.
- Genuine praise for God that is included in our prayers even when things seem bleak and God feels distant.
Such an approach to prayer is not a magical formula but a Spirit-inspired one — check it out in Psalm 4!

Oh Dios, escucha mi pedido de alivio no solo por mí mismo, sino también por los que amo para que encuentren una salida a sus angustias, cargas y sufrimiento. Responde en maneras increíbles y milagrosas no solo para que encontremos alivio, sino también para que tu nombre sea glorificado. En el nombre de Jesús oro, Amen.
My Prayer...
O God, please hear my cry for relief and the relief of those I love who are in agony from their burdens and suffering. Please answer in amazing and miraculous ways so that we may not only be relieved, but you may be glorified by those who see you working in the lives of ordinary but desperate people. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
