오늘의 묵상
지난 삶이 매우 서툴렀던 사람에게는, 이런 약속이 믿기 쉽지는 않을 것입니다 — 장애물이 될 것이 없어진다니 말입니다! 하지만 만약 하나님의 뜻을 알고, 그 뜻을 사랑하고, 그 뜻을 실행한다면, 그 약속이 내 삶에서 현실화되어 내 앞에 장애물들이 모두 없어질 것입니다. 아버지께서 나를 사랑하신다는 것을 알고, 그분께서 내가 넘어지는 것을 원하지 않으시다는 것을 아는 것이 큰 평안이 됩니다.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
My doctor likes to tease me when I come in for a checkup: "What is your problem with gravity?" You see, from an early age, my nickname was "Trip"! I am someone who has had several very clumsy stages of life and taken some pretty nasty stumbles. So, I hope you will join me in hearing this most beautiful promise from today's Scripture. For me, this promise is almost beyond believing.
"Nothing can make them stumble."
When it comes to life, God gives us this promise: as we know, love, and do his will, nothing can make us stumble. There is great peace knowing that the Father loves us and doesn't want us to stumble. Even when we do begin to stumble, if we go back to God and confess those stumbles and sins, he forgives them and makes us clean. It's as if they hadn't happened (1 John 1:9). God no longer sees it as a stumble because he has forgiven it and has empowered us beyond it! Now it is our turn to love God, his truth, and his guidance, obeying with all of our hearts, knowing that we have a power over spiritual gravity: nothing can make us stumble!
내 기도
하나님, 오늘을 허락해 주셔서 감사드립니다. 제 앞에 놓여진 모든 것들에 대해 감사드립니다. 제 자신의 기본적인 가치에 대한 의심을 갖거나, 제 삶을 향한 주님의 뜻에 대해 무감각한 상태로 오늘이고 내일이고 살아가야 할 필요가 없어졌으니 감사드립니다. 주님의 뜻과 주님의 말씀에 대한 사랑을 제 안에 만드셔서, 그 어떤 것도 저를 넘어뜨리는 장애물 되지 못하게 하시옵소서. 주님의 영으로 저를 강하게 하시고 주님의 진리로 저를 인도하셔서 주님의 성품을 더 온전하게 반영하기를 원합니다. 제 기도를 들어주시니 예수님의 이름으로 감사하며 기도드립니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Thank you, God, for this day. Thank you for all that lies ahead. Thank you that we don't have to face today or tomorrow with doubts about our basic values and without a sense of your will for our lives. Stir us to live your will and obey your Scriptures so that nothing can make us stumble. Empower us with your Spirit and guide us with your truth so that we may more perfectly reflect your character. In Jesus' name, we thank you for hearing our prayers. Amen.
