오늘의 묵상
예수님께서 이 세상에 오신 것은 우리에게 생명을 주시기 위함입니다. 우리에게 규범, 심판, 공포심, 일 시킬것들을 주러 오신 것이 아닙니다. 예수님은 가장 충만한 형태의 생명을 우리에게 주시려고 오셨습니다. 영원토록 예수님과 함께 거하게 될 것이라는 약속을 우리는 압니다. 그 예수께서 그 생명을 (당신이 이 글을 읽는) 바로 지금부터 시작하게 해주신다는 약속을, 사도 요한이 이 말씀에서 명확하게 전달해주고 싶어하는 것입니다! 단순히 나중의 생명뿐만 아니라, 바로 지금부터의 생명도 포함하는 것입니다!
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Jesus came to our world to give us life. He didn't come to bring us rules, or judgment, or fear, or work. Jesus came to give us life in its fullest form. While we know this is promised to us when we go to be with him for all eternity, John wants us to hear clearly that Jesus' promise to give us life that begins right now! When we believe in him, build our lives on him, and obey him, we pass from the world of sin and death into true life (John 5:24). When we believe in him, we have life in him that will never die (John 11:25-26). When we trust in him through baptism, our life is joined to his life and our lives are secure with Christ in God (Colossians 2:13-15, 3:1-4). This means Jesus' life, his abundant life, starts now! Jesus didn't come to offer "pie in the sky in the sweet by and by." It's not just life later, but abundant life NOW!
내 기도
전능하신 하나님, 제가 삶을 너무 신중하게 살아가다보니 실패와 손실을 감수하지 않으려고해서, 주님께서 주시는 기회들과 주님께서 신경쓰시는 것들에 도달하지 못할 때가 있음을 고백합니다. 오늘부터 언제든지 주님의 뜻과 예수님의 모범과 성령의 이끄심을 추구하는 충만한 생명의 삶을 갈구하는 마음을 주시옵소서. 주님의 영광을 돌리며 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Almighty God, I confess that sometimes I play t life too carefullyavoidingng failure and loss and not reaching for your opportunities and challenges. Please give me a heart that yearns to live life in all its fullness by seeking your will, following Jesus' example, and asking the Holy Spirit to guide me in my decisions today, and lead me into your tomorrows. In the name of Jesus, I ask for this boldness to approach life and live to your glory. Amen.
