오늘의 묵상
"꼴찌들이 첫째가 되고, 첫째들이 꼴찌가 될 것이다" 이 말씀은 예수님께서 즐겨 하신 말씀중 하나입니다. 그런데 예수께서 태어나시기 오래전부터 하나님께서 (베들레헴에 대해) 같은 말씀을 하셨다는 것이 놀랍습니다. 또한 예수님을 알지 못했지만 성경을 아는 그들도 같은 말을 했다는 것도 놀랍지요! 예수님이 그 말씀을 가르치기 30년전에 헤롯과 예수께서 같이 이 땅에 계셨다는 것도 흥미롭습니다. 예수께서 죽으시고 피를 흘리셨으며 주일날 다시 살아나셨다는 것을 기념하기 위해 성만찬을 허락하신 것도 놀랍습니다! 예수님과 그의 백성들이 결국 첫째가 되어 이기게 됩니다!
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
"The first will be last and the last will be first." That's one of Jesus' favorite sayings. Isn't it interesting that God said it long before Jesus was born. Isn't it interesting that those who knew the Scriptures, but didn't know Jesus, said it too! Isn't it interesting that Herod and Jesus lived it thirty years before Jesus would teach it? Isn't it interesting that the Jesus gave us the Lord's Supper to remember that while Jesus died and shed his blood, on the first day of the week, Sunday, he rose. When it matters most, Jesus and his people will finish first!
내 기도
오 놀라우신 주님. 주님은 전능하신 하나님이시며 거룩하시고 위엄있으신 창조주이십니다. 하지만 주님께서는 가장 작은 자가 되셔서 저도 주님의 영광을 나눌 수 있게 해주셨습니다. 오 하나님, 제가 가장 작은 소자처럼 보이는 사람을 절대로 얕보지 않도록 저를 도와주시옵소서. 아버지, 제가 그들을 섬기고 사랑할 때에 아버지를 섬기고 사랑한다는 것임을 압니다. 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
You, O Lord, are marvelous. You are God Almighty, the holy and majestic Creator. Yet you became the least so I can share in your glory. Please help me, O God, never to look down on someone else because they look like the least. I know, Father, that as I serve and love them, I'm serving and loving you. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
