Pensamento:
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
We crave food at regular intervals during the day. During this holiday season, food occupies our thoughts and fills up our activities. However, deep in our souls is a hunger, a soul-hunger. Food, drink, and chemicals cannot meet this hunger or remove it from us. This hunger was the desire built into us by our Creator, placed there when he knit us together in our mother's womb (Psalm 139:13-16). God did this so we, as the apostle Paul told the Athenians, "would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us" (Acts 17:27). Our soul-hunger can only be satiated by Jesus, the bread that gives us true life!
My Prayer...
Please fill me, dear Father, with Jesus. Give me Jesus today as my "daily bread" so that I can find life in all its fullness in him.* Precious Lord, Jesus, my brother and Savior, fill me and touch me with your presence so that I can serve you by blessing those around me with your grace. In the name of Jesus, my Living Bread, I pray. Amen.
* John 10:10.
