చీకటి అనేది ఒక చిహ్నం కంటే ఎక్కువ, ఇది ప్రపంచాన్ని జీవించడానికి మరియు వీక్షించడానికి విస్తృతమైన మార్గం. చీకటి అనేది మోసం, చెడు, నేరం, వేటగాళ్ళు, పాపం మరియు మరణం యొక్క ప్రదేశం. యేసును వెంబడించడం అంటే మన హృదయాన్ని ఆయనకి తీసుకురావడం మరియు లోపలి భాగంలో మనలను పీడిస్తున్న చీకటి నుండి ఆయనను వెళ్లనివ్వడం, కాబట్టి మనం బయట ఉన్న చీకటికి భయపడాల్సిన అవసరం లేదు. ఈ విధంగా, యేసు మనకు వెలుగునిచ్చాడు, అయితే ఇది చీకటి గదిని కాంతితో నింపడం కంటే ఎక్కువ చేసే కాంతి. ఇది హృదయాన్ని ప్రకాశింపజేసే కాంతి.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Darkness is more than a symbol; it is a pervasive way of living and viewing the world. Darkness is the place of deception, evil, crime, predators, sin, and death. To follow Jesus means each of us brings our heart to him and lets him cast out the darkness that plagues us inside, so we don't have to fear the darkness outside. In this way, Jesus gives us light that is so much more than just a light that illuminates a dark room. He is the true light, the light of life that the darkness cannot defeat (John 1:4, 9). And this light now shines in us and makes us vessels of grace that share that light with those trapped in darkness (2 Corinthians 4:6-7; Matthew 5:14-16).

My Prayer...
Holy God, who lives in glorious and irrepressible light, I praise you for sending Jesus to cast away the dark fears that so easily envelop me. I pray for strength and courage to not only live in the light, but to show others the way to Jesus, the light of life. In his name I pray. Amen.
