Pensées sur le Verset du Jour...
L'apôtre Paul précise que le cœur de l'Évangile se trouve dans la mort, l'ensevelissement, la résurrection et les apparitions de Jésus (1 Corinthiens 15: 1-8). La Cène, la Communion ou l'Eucharistie du Seigneur, comme on l'appelle parfois, est un élément clé de notre marche avec le Christ. C'est un moment où nous proclamons l'histoire de l'Évangile (cf. 1 Corinthiens 11, 26). Mais, c'est plus qu'un temps de proclamation; c'est un moment de participation. Nous partageons le souper les uns avec les autres et avec le Christ. Cette participation nous revitalise dans notre marche avec le Sauveur et nous aide à revivre sa mort salvatrice et sa résurrection.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
The Apostle Paul makes clear that the heart of the Gospel is found in the death, burial, resurrection, and appearances of Jesus (1 Corinthians 15:1-8). The Lord's Supper, Communion or Eucharist as it is sometimes called, is a key part of our walk with Christ. It is a time where we proclaim the story of the Gospel (cf. 1 Corinthians 11:26). But, it is more than a time of proclamation; it is a time of participation. We share in the supper with each other and with Christ. This participation revitalizes us in our walk with the Savior and helps us re-live his saving death and resurrection.
Ma Prière...
Dieu saint et Père aimant, merci de m'avoir donné le repas du Seigneur. C'est un rappel si beau et convaincant du coût énorme que Jésus a payé pour mon péché. C'est un si beau rappel de l'amour que tu as pour moi et de la rançon payée pour me libérer du péché et de la mort. Merci de m'avoir invité à participer au saint sacrifice de ton Fils et de mon Sauveur. Puis-je ne jamais le prendre pour acquis ou abuser de ce précieux cadeau pour moi. Au nom de Jésus, je prie. Amen.
My Prayer...
Holy God and loving Father, thank you for giving me the Lord's Supper. It is such a beautiful and convicting reminder of the tremendous cost Jesus paid for my sin. It is such a beautiful reminder of the love you have for me and the ransom paid to set me free from sin and death. Thank you for inviting me to share in the holy sacrifice of your Son and my Savior. May I never take it for granted or misuse this precious gift to me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
