오늘의 묵상
예수님께서는 "날마다 자기 십자가를 지고, 나를 따라오너라"고 하셨습니다. 진리의 선택은 매일의 선택입니다. 우리 삶의 중심에 예수님을 의지적으로 모시지 않는다면, 그분께서 우리보고 살아가라고 하는 삶에서 좀 더 멀리 벗어나게 됩니다. 의식적으로 예수님을 기쁘시게 하려고 결정하지 않는다면, 그분을 우리 삶의 변두리에 내모는 것과도 같습니다. 그러니 우리의 마음을 예수님께 고정합시다. 그분의 길과 진리의 길과 영생의 길을 선택하고, 우리의 마음을 그분의 뜻을 행하는데에 고정시킵시다.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Jesus challenged us with this strong call:
"Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me" (Luke 9:23).
"The way of truth," the way of Jesus, is a daily choice. Not intentionally putting Jesus at the center of our lives and not seeking to please him as our top priority means we slip a little further away from the life he is calling us to live. Any decision made without consciously seeking to please him and obeying his commands (Matthew 28:20) is choosing to place Jesus at the periphery of our lives. So let's set our hearts on him. Let's choose his way and his truth so we can live his life (John 14:6) in our world. Yes, we have chosen the way of truth, and we have set our hope on Jesus, who is the fulfillment of God's laws (Matthew 5:17-28).
내 기도
하늘 아버지, 오늘 아버지를 따르고 아버지의 진리를 따르고자 결정합니다. 제 눈을 여셔서 아버지의 진리를 깨닫게 하시고 제 마음을 여셔서 꾸준하고 열정적으로 그 진리의 삶을 살도록 도와주시옵소서. 오늘 제 마음을 다하고, 목숨을 다하고, 뜻을 다하고, 힘을 다하여 아버지를 따르겠다고 오늘 결심합니다. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Heavenly Father, I choose to follow Jesus and live obediently to his truth. Please open my eyes to see your will for me in Jesus, and please open my heart to live it with consistency and passion. I commit again today to follow you with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
