오늘의 묵상
성경의 가장 오래된 질문 중 하나인데, 혹시 기억하시나요? "너의 형제 아벨이 어디 있느냐?" 가인이 대답하기를:"제가 아우를 지키는 자입니까?"라고 했었지요. 하지만 사도바울의 대답은 명확하며 거부할 수 없습니다! 우리들은 우리 자신의 일뿐만 아니라 다른 이들의 일도 돌보아 주어야 합니다.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Do you remember one of the earliest questions in the Bible? "Where is your brother... Abel?" To which Cain responded: "Am I my brother's keeper?" (Genesis 4:9) Paul's answer to Cain's question is clear and undeniable: It is, YES! As Paul tells the Philippians (and us) in this verse, we must not look only to our "own interests, but also to the interest of others"! We are our brother's keeper! We are our sister's keeper! We look not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of those around us who need God's grace and our love.

아버지, 주님의 가족 사랑하는 법을 제게 가르치셔서 아버지처럼 사랑하게 하시옵소서. 저는 제 자신의 세상과 문제들에 너무나 갇혀 있고 정신이 팔려 있어서 제 주변의 다른 이들이 상처받는 것을 눈치채지 못하곤 합니다. 저를 도우셔서, 그들의 필요를 더 잘 알고 더 관심을 기울이게 하셔서, 저를 통해 그들을 위한 사역을 행하시옵소서. 예수님의 강력한 능력의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Father, teach me to love your family as you love me. I get so caught up and distracted in my own world and my own problems that I forget to notice those hurting around me. Help me grow more aware and attuned to others' needs, so you may minister to their needs and interests through me. In the powerful name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
