오늘의 묵상
예수님께서는 자신의 소유물에게 다가오셨습니다 —자신이 만드신 세상으로, 또 자신께서 그의 백성들에게 약속하신 땅에 오셨는데— 그의 소유된 백성이 그를 받아들이지 않았습니다. 우리들은 예수님을 향한 우리 자신의 욕망과 꿈에 눈이 멀어있는 나머지, 정작 예수님께서 우리들을 향하신 뜻을 놓치곤 합니다. 다음과 같은 말이 우리에게 적용되지는 않는지 살펴봅시다: "예수님은 내게 오셨지만, 저는 예수님을 받아들일 준비가 안 되었어요. 제가 하고 싶었던 다른 일들이 있었구요, 예수님께 제 마음을 온전히 복종하기 전에 경험하고 싶은 다른 일들이 있었단 말입니다" 우리의 뜻을 예수님께 복종하지 않으려 할 때마다, 우리는 예수님을 주님으로 모시지 않는 것이며, 우리의 마음은 더욱 굳어버리게 되어 예수님을 옆으로 치워버리기가 더욱 더 쉬워지게 됩니다. 우리 마음이 예수님의 은혜에 귀기울이고 있다면, 우리의 헌신을 새롭게 하여 예수님의 영광과 은혜를 위해 우리의 마음과 삶을 온전히 바쳐드리도록 합시다.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Jesus came to his own things — the world he had created and the land God had promised his people — and his very own people didn't receive him. Sometimes we are misled by OUR desires and OUR dreams for what Jesus will do for us that we miss what God wants for us and from us. Let's not let the following be true in our lives. "Jesus came to me, but I wasn't ready to receive him. I had other things I wanted to do and other things I wanted to experience before I fully surrendered my heart to him."
Each time we put off surrendering our will to Jesus, each time we push him away as Lord, we allow our hearts to harden, and it becomes easier and easier to push him away. Now, while our hearts are still attentive to his grace, let's renew our commitment to him, wholly and afresh, offering Jesus our hearts and lives to be used for his glory and grace. Let's not put it off. It may be too late for us if we do!
내 기도
거룩하신 하나님, 주님의 뜻에 제 마음을 온전히 복종합니다. 소중하신 예수님, 제 생애 어느 때보다도 지금 예수님은 제 주님이시며, 제 삶을 예수님을 위해 섬기고 싶습니다. 주님의 인도하심에 저항하고 주님의 요구에 등을 돌렸던 것을 용서해 주십시오. 주님께서 저를 구하시기 위해 모든 것을 버리고 오셨고 모든 것을 포기하신 것을 압니다. 그러니 지금 저를 빚으셔서 제가 변화되기 원하시는 성품대로 만드시고, 다른 이들을 축복하고 주님께 영광돌리도록 사용해 주시옵소서. 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.
My Prayer...
Holy God, I surrender my heart to your will. Precious Jesus, now more than ever, I recognize you as my Lord. I want to serve you and honor you in all areas of my life. Please forgive me for resisting your guidance or turning away from your commands. I know you left everything and gave up everything to save me. So now, dear Lord, please mold me into the person you want me to be and use me in ways that bless others and bring you glory. Amen.
