Pensées sur le Verset du Jour...
Aïe ! Nous connaissons la voie du péché depuis des milliers d'années, pourtant nous la suivons parfois encore. Nous sommes attirés par quelque chose de plaisant à nos yeux. Nous faisons une pause pour l'examiner de plus près, nous laissant captiver par son attrait. Nous y tâtonnons et jouons avec, nous trompant en pensant que nous pouvons le gérer par nous-mêmes. Ensuite, nous participons au péché. Enfin, nous entraînons d'autres dans notre péché. On pourrait penser que nous aurions appris le schéma et arrêté à présent. On pourrait penser que lorsque nous voyons d'autres s'engager sur ce chemin de destruction, nous intervenons. Alors, évitons le péché et cherchons l'aide du Saint-Esprit pour surmonter la tentation et aidons les autres en intervenant lorsqu'ils sont entraînés sur le chemin de la destruction.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Ouch! We've known the way of sin for thousands of years, yet we sometimes still follow its path. We're lured by something pleasing to our eyes. We pause for closer inspection of it, allowing ourselves to be caught up in its desirability. We dabble in it and play with it, deceiving ourselves into thinking we can handle it by ourselves. We then participate in the sin. Finally, we involve others in our sin. You'd think we would have learned the pattern and stopped by now. You would think when we see others going down this trail of destruction, we would intervene. So, let's avoid sin and seek the help of the Holy Spirit to overcome temptation and help others by intervening when they are being led down the path of destruction.
Ma Prière...
Père, s'il te plaît, pardonne-moi pour mon cœur rebelle et pécheur. Aide-moi à réaliser quand je me trompe délibérément en flirtant avec la tentation. Je veux vivre pleinement et être saint pour Toi. Je ne veux pas être captivé par l'attrait du péché ou tenté par les passions mondaines, mais vivre passionnément une vie pieuse pour ta gloire en évitant le péché et en aidant les autres lorsqu'ils sont tentés. Au puissant nom de Jésus, je prie. Amen.
My Prayer...
Father, please forgive me for my rebellious and sinful heart. Please help me realize when I am willfully self-deceiving myself when flirting with temptation. I want to live wholly and be holy for you. I don't want to be captured by the allure of sin or tempted by worldly passions, but to passionately live a godly life for your glory by avoiding sin and helping others when they are tempted. In Jesus' mighty name, I pray. Amen.
