रोमियों 6:1-2 से मिलता-जुलता यह पद महान अनुस्मारक है कि पाप अब हमारा स्वामी नहीं है और न ही अब हमारा चुनाव है। हम अपने अस्तित्व के प्रत्येक तंतु के साथ परमेश्वर के लिए जीना चुनते हैं और पाप के जीवन से घृणा करते हैं जिसने हमें एक बार मृत्यु और हार के बंधन में जकड़ रखा था।
