आज के वचन पर आत्मचिंतन...
मुझे पूर्वोत्तर संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में मेन का तट बहुत पसंद है। मुझे कठोर तटरेखाएँ, टकराती लहरें, और तटरेखाओं के साथ रणनीतिक और अच्छी तरह से किलेबंद स्थानों पर बने प्रकाशस्तंभ (lighthouses) पसंद हैं। जब मैं अंधेरे को इकट्ठा होते देखता हूँ, कोहरा बनते देखता हूँ, और फिर आने वाले तूफान की हिंसा को शोरगुल करते हुए किनारे पर आते देखता हूँ, तो मैं अपने स्वर्गीय पिता के बारे में सोचने से खुद को रोक नहीं पाता। वहाँ, तूफान में — बिजली के आसमान को चीरने, हवाओं के गरजने, और लहरों के टकराने के साथ — वह प्रकाश खड़ा है जो रास्ता दिखाता है, तत्वों के सामने मज़बूत है और दिशा और आशा का एक दीपस्तंभ है। हाँ, प्रभु, इस्राएल का परमेश्वर यहोवा, सभी चीजों का सर्वशक्तिमान सृष्टिकर्ता, मेरा प्रकाश और मेरा उद्धार है। मेरा जीवन, मेरा अनन्त हिस्सा, उसे सौंपा गया है। मैं डरना नहीं चुनता। मैं उस पर अपना भरोसा रखता हूँ क्योंकि "प्रभु मेरा प्रकाश और मेरा उद्धार है...!"
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
I love the coast of Maine in the northeastern United States. I love the craggy shorelines, the crashing surf, and the lighthouses perched at strategic and well-fortified points along the coastlines. I cannot help but think of our heavenly Father when I watch the gloom gather, the fog build, and then see the violence of the impending storm noisily make its way onshore. There, in the storm — with lightning ripping through the sky, winds howling, and surf crashing — stands the light that guides the way, strong against the elements and a beacon of direction and hope. Yes, the Lord, Yahweh the God of Israel, the Almighty Creator of all things, is my light and my salvation. My life, the eternal part of me, is entrusted with him. I choose not to fear. I place my trust in him because "The Lord is my light and my salvation...!"

My Prayer...
Father in heaven, I praise you for your faithfulness through the ages. I thank you for your steadfast love, which has blessed each generation, giving hope in times of darkness, salvation in times of wantonness, and strength in times of weakness. Now I ask that you be with several people I love, who need your palpable presence as they fight their battles... (Please mention several of your friends and acquaintances who need the Lord's presence at this time.) In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
