Die Erhaltung der Reinheit ist in einer Welt voller Ablenkungen und Versuchungen eine schwierige Aufgabe. Noch schwieriger ist sie, weil der Ruf zur Reinheit oft vergessen und ignoriert wird. “Billige Gnade” (Judas 4) ersetzt den Ruf zum leidenschaftlichen Leben. Auch wenn wir Werksgerechtigkeit niemals billigen wollen, dürfen wir nie vergessen, dass die Unreinheit derer, die den Anspruch erheben, Christen zu sein, durch ihre Faulheit, fehlende Hingabe oder einfach Auflehnung unseren Einfluss vor der beobachtenden Welt zerstört.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
In a world so full of distractions and temptations, purity is difficult. Even more than difficult, the call to purity often goes forgotten and ignored (1 John 3:2-3). "Cheap grace" (Jude 1:4) is sometimes substituted for Jesus' call to passionate, pure, and holy living. While we never want to give in to a works-righteousness approach to salvation, we must also remember that impurity through laziness, lack of commitment, or simple rebellion contaminates those claiming to be Christians and ruins our influence before the watching world. We are called to be at work perfecting holiness in our lives out of our reverence for God!
Mein Gebet
Reinige, oh Gott, mein Herz, mein Leben, meinen Körper und meinen Einfluss. Mögen meine Worte und meine Gedanken für dich ohne Tadel sein. Ich möchte heilig sein, so wie du heilig bist und dich ehren, da nur du ehrwürdig bist. Du allein bist Gott! Durch Jesus bitte ich. Amen.
