Pensamientos sobre el Verso de Hoy
Dios quiere escuchar a nuestras oraciones. Aun así Él quiere que no siempre se enfoquen en nuestros pedidos sino que demos a la vez gracias por lo que ya hemos recibido. Es muy fácil hacer que la oración llegue a ser una sencilla "línea de pedidos." Nosotros somos más pobres cuando nuestras oraciones no incluyen las gracias y alabanzas a Dios. Sin alabanza nuestros corazones se apagan porque solo estamos enfocados en nuestros problemas y la oración llega a ser meros deseos vacíos.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
God wants to hear our prayers. But to keep them from becoming too self-focused, God wants us always to remember to give thanks (Philippians 4:6). It is so easy for us to turn prayer into a request-only exercise. We are the ones who are left bereft when thanksgiving and praise are stolen from our prayers. Without praise, our hearts grow dim because all we think about is our problems, and prayer becomes a wish list of stuff we selfishly want as we treat God as our heavenly Santa Claus. If God gave us his Son to show us his love — and he did — what will he withhold? We can trust God to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus as we pray with thanksgiving and remember the loving Father to whom we pray.

Dios de Gracia, tengo tantas razones para alabarte. En la cara del desafío y el sufrimiento, tengo tus promesas para despertar mi fe. En el momento de victoria, te tengo a ti para agradecer. En el aburrimiento de la rutina tengo los grandes gozos en tus sorpresas. Gracias Dios por ser tan grande y tan amoroso. En el nombre de Jesús, Amén.
My Prayer...
Gracious God, I have so many reasons to praise you. In the face of trial and hardship, I have your promises to reawaken my hope through your presence in my life and the power of the Holy Spirit. In the moment of victories, I have you to thank for my abilities and the power to accomplish things for your glory. In my boredom with the routine, I can find great joy in your surprises. Thank you, God, for being so great and yet so lovingly present and attentive to my needs. In Jesus' name, I thank and praise you. Amen.
