Pensées sur le Verset du Jour...
Dieu veut entendre nos prières. Mais pour les empêcher de devenir trop centrés sur eux-mêmes, Dieu veut que nous nous souvenions toujours de rendre grâce. Il est si facile pour nous de transformer la prière en une ligne de demande. Nous sommes ceux qui sont privés lorsque l'action de grâce et la louange sont dépouillées de nos prières. Sans louanges, nos cœurs s'assombrissent parce que nous ne pensons qu'à des problèmes et que la prière devient une liste de souhaits.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
God wants to hear our prayers. But to keep them from becoming too self-focused, God wants us always to remember to give thanks (Philippians 4:6). It is so easy for us to turn prayer into a request-only exercise. We are the ones who are left bereft when thanksgiving and praise are stolen from our prayers. Without praise, our hearts grow dim because all we think about is our problems, and prayer becomes a wish list of stuff we selfishly want as we treat God as our heavenly Santa Claus. If God gave us his Son to show us his love — and he did — what will he withhold? We can trust God to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus as we pray with thanksgiving and remember the loving Father to whom we pray.
Ma Prière...
Dieu miséricordieux, j'ai tant de raisons de te louer. Face aux épreuves, j'ai tes promesses de réveiller mon espoir. Au moment de la victoire, je dois te remercier pour mes capacités. Dans l'ennui de la routine, j'ai de grandes joies dans tes surprises. Merci Dieu d'être si grand et pourtant si aimant. Au nom de Jesus. Amen.
My Prayer...
Gracious God, I have so many reasons to praise you. In the face of trial and hardship, I have your promises to reawaken my hope through your presence in my life and the power of the Holy Spirit. In the moment of victories, I have you to thank for my abilities and the power to accomplish things for your glory. In my boredom with the routine, I can find great joy in your surprises. Thank you, God, for being so great and yet so lovingly present and attentive to my needs. In Jesus' name, I thank and praise you. Amen.
