오늘의 묵상
예수님은 우리의 사람 됨됨이를 보거나, 혹은 우리가 잠재력 있는 사람이라서 우리를 위해 죽으신 것이 아닙니다. 오히려 예수님 없이는 우리가 어떻게 될지, 원래 우리가 어떤 사람인지를 정확히 아시기 때문에 우리를 위해 죽으신 것입니다. 찬양을 하나님께 돌립시다! 예수님께서 우리의 죄를 자신에게 올려놓으시고 우리에게 하나님의 은혜와 의를 주셨으므로 이제 우리는 하나님의 의(righteousness)입니다. (고후 5:17-21)
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
Jesus did not die for us because he had some high hopes for who we are. He certainly didn't die for us because of what we had done in the past that merited his sacrifice. No, he died for us because he knew exactly who we are and where we would be without him. Praise be to God; we are now God's righteousness because Jesus took our sin upon himself and gave us God's grace and righteousness in place of our sin (2 Corinthians 5:17-21).
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
He now chooses to call us his friends and his family (John 15:15; Hebrews 2:10-14).

거룩하신 하나님, 나의 구주 예수님을 허락하셔서 감사드립니다. 저같은 사람에게는 어울리지 않은 그런 멋진 선물을 주셨으니, 제 사랑과 헌신을 적당하게 표현할 말이 없을 지경입니다. 예수님을 통해 제 삶과 감사를 하나님께 드립니다. 아멘.
