خُدا ہماری دعاؤں کو سننا چاہتا ہے۔ لیکن ان کو زیادہ اپنے لیے مانگنے سے پرہیز کریں، خُدا چاہتا ہے کہ ہم ہمیشہ شکرگزاری کریں۔ یہ ہمارے لیے بہت آسان ہے کہ دعاؤں کو درخواستوں میں تبدیل کر دیں۔ ہم وہ لوگ ہیں جو محروم چھوڑ دیے گئے ہیں جبکہ شکرگزاری اور حمد ہماری دعاؤں سے چھین لی گئی ہیں۔ حمد کے بغیر ہماری دل مدھم ہو جاتے ہیں کیونکہ ہم صرف اپنے مسائل کے بارے سوچتے ہیں جس سے دعائیں صرف ایک خواہشات کی فہرست بن جاتی ہیں۔
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
God wants to hear our prayers. But to keep them from becoming too self-focused, God wants us always to remember to give thanks (Philippians 4:6). It is so easy for us to turn prayer into a request-only exercise. We are the ones who are left bereft when thanksgiving and praise are stolen from our prayers. Without praise, our hearts grow dim because all we think about is our problems, and prayer becomes a wish list of stuff we selfishly want as we treat God as our heavenly Santa Claus. If God gave us his Son to show us his love — and he did — what will he withhold? We can trust God to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus as we pray with thanksgiving and remember the loving Father to whom we pray.
میری دعا
رحیم خُدا، میرے پاس تیری حمد کرنے کی بہت سی وجوہات ہیں۔ امتحان کے وقت میں اور مشکلات میں میرے پاس تیرے وعدے ہیں کہ تو میری امید کو جگائے گا۔ فتح کے وقت میں اپنی صلاحتیوں کے شکر کے لیے تجھے پاتاہوں۔ میری بوریت کے وقت میں، میرے پاس تیرے تحائف میں عظیم خوشی ہوتی ہے۔ اے خُدا اتنا عظیم اور محبت کرنے والا ہونے کے لیے میں تیرا شکر ادا کرتا ہوں۔ یسوع کے نام میں۔آمین۔
My Prayer...
Gracious God, I have so many reasons to praise you. In the face of trial and hardship, I have your promises to reawaken my hope through your presence in my life and the power of the Holy Spirit. In the moment of victories, I have you to thank for my abilities and the power to accomplish things for your glory. In my boredom with the routine, I can find great joy in your surprises. Thank you, God, for being so great and yet so lovingly present and attentive to my needs. In Jesus' name, I thank and praise you. Amen.
