Gedanken zum Vers des Tages
Wenn wir an das Kreuz denken, dürfen zwei Worte nie damit in Verbindung gebracht werden, nämlich: „tragischer Unfall“. Petrus zeigt sehr deutlich, wie zwei verschiedene Strömungen der Macht im Kreuz aufeinander treffen. Das Böse führte seinen Plan aus - Gottes Sohn wurde gekreuzigt. Gott hatte aber seinen Plan und ließ das Kreuz zu, um uns zu erlösen. Das Kreuz ist sicher kein Unfall. Was also das Böse als unsere ultimative Niederlage beabsichtigte, benutze Gott, um unsere Errettung und unseren Sieg zu bewirken. Das Beste und das Schlimmste sind aufeinander geprallt. Das Kreuz ist natürlich nicht die letzte Antwort in diesem Krieg, sondern das leere Grab und der auferstandene Herr! Wir sind die siegreichen Empfänger dieser Gnade, die durch einen qualvollen Preis bezahlt wurde. Dieser Preis der Gnade wurde von unserem ärgsten Gegner grausam vollstreckt, aber für uns gesichert durch den Sieg Jesu über das Grab.
Thoughts on Today's Verse...
When we think of the Cross, two words we must never associate with it are the words "tragic accident." Peter makes very clear that two separate streams of power converged at the cross. Evil had its way and brought the Son of God to the Cross. God had his plan and he allowed the cross to happen to redeem us. The Cross was no accident. What hell had intended as our ultimate defeat, God used to bring us redemption and triumph. The best and worst of all things collided. Of course the Cross wasn't the ultimate answer in this battle; the empty tomb and the resurrected Lord are. We are the victorious recipients of this grace, paid at such an agonizing cost, administered in such a cruel manner by our greatest adversary, and secured by Jesus' triumph over the grave.
Mein Gebet
Heiliger Gott. Danke dir dafür, dass du einen Plan hast, der die Vergebung meiner Sünden und meine Zukunft mit dir sichert. Danke dafür, dass du den Preis für die Ausführung dieses Plans bezahlt hast. Danke, dass du den Sieg über die Boshaftigkeit der Hölle und über die Taten böser Menschen bewirkt hast. Ich liebe dich als den, der du bist, und für alles, was du für mich getan hast. In Jesu Namen, bete ich. Amen.
My Prayer...
Holy God, thank you for having a plan in place that insures that my sins can be forgiven and my future with you is secured. Thank you for paying the price for that plan to work. Thank you for triumphing over the wickedness of hell and the work of evil people. I love you so much for all you are and all you have done for me. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
