오늘의 묵상

우리가 십자가를 생각할 때에 "비극적인 사고"라는 단어와 결부시킬 수는 없습니다. 베드로는 십자가에서 두 줄기 강력한 힘이 만나게 됨을 매우 분명히 합니다. 악의 세력은 하나님의 아들을 십자가로 끌고 갔으며, 하나님께서는 그분의 계획을 갖고 계셨고 우리를 구원하시기 위해 십자가 사건을 허락하셨습니다. 십자가는 "사고(accident)"가 아닙니다. 우리의 영원한 패배로 만들기 위해 지옥세력의 의도를 하나님께서 사용하셔서, 반대로 우리의 구원과 승리를 이끌어내셨습니다. 우주 만물의 모든 최고의 것들과 최악의 것들이 충돌할 것입니다. 물론 십자가는 이 전투에서의 궁극적 해답은 아닙니다. 비어있는 무덤과 부활하신 주님이 해답입니다. 우리는 이렇게 승리하신 그 은혜의 수혜자입니다! 우리는 주님께서 엄청난 고통의 대가를 치르셔서 구하신 대상이며, 또한 우리의 가장 큰 대적이 매우 잔인한 방법을 이용하였지만, 예수님의 은혜로 말미암은 승리하심으로 안전함을 얻게 되었습니다.

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

When we think of the Cross, we must never associate the words "tragic accident" with it. In this message at the first Pentecost following Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection, Peter insisted that two separate streams of power converged at the Cross.

  1. Evil had its way and brought the Son of God to the Cross through the work of evil men.
  2. God purposed and planned the evil intentions behind Jesus' crucifixion would become his way of redeeming, cleansing, and saving us.

The Cross was no accident. What the forces hell had intended as our ultimate defeat, God used to bring us redemption and triumph. The best and worst of all things collided. Of course, the Cross wasn't the final answer in this battle; the empty tomb and the resurrected Jesus were. We are the victorious recipients of this grace, paid at such an agonizing cost and administered cruelly by our greatest adversary. Yet God purposed the cross to secure our salvation through Jesus' triumph over the grave.

거룩하신 하나님, 확실히 제 죄가 용서받을 수 있는 계획을 세우신 것에 대해, 또한 당신과 함께 할 안전한 미래를 마련해 주심에 감사를 드립니다. 그 계획을 위해서 값을 치르심에도 감사를 드립니다. 지옥의 모든 사악함과 악한 자들의 노력을 누르시고 승리하심에 감사합니다. 저를 위해 행하신 모든 것들 사랑하고 또한 주님을 정말로 사랑합니다. 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

My Prayer...

Holy God, thank you for having a plan for us, to forgive our sins and secure our future with you. Thank you for paying the price for that plan to work. Thank you for triumphing over hell's wickedness and the work of evil people. We love you for all you are and all you have done for us in Jesus, the cross, and the empty tomb. We pray in our Savior's mighty name. Amen.
